The week started with Rowell Z. in first place with the 26-pound 16-ounce King he caught 10-16-24 and Danny N. in second place with his 21-pound 9-ounce fish he caught 10-16-24. Rowell then decked a 23-pound 13-ounce fish 10-29-24 that moved him above Danny with both of his fish. He had the 26lb 6oz in first and his 23lb 13oz sitting second. This afternoon, Chung K. took over first place with a 26-pound 12-ounce King he caught at 3:00pm. Rowell Z.was bumped to second place with his 26-pound 6-ounce fish. We had a good week for King with several fish 20-pounds or better caught and a number of smaller fish. We also lost three fish today between 18 to 22-pounds to “Flipper”: Here is Chung with his leading fish, Rowell Z. with his second place fish as well as several more pictures of other Kings caught and lost to “Flipper” during the week.
Spanish Mackerel have been active with multiple fish caught per day. There were several limits by different anglers during the week. All sizes of Spanish were around with some nice “axe-handles” caught. This is an example of one of the larger fish that weighed 4-pounds 4-ounces.
Bonita have been few lately. However, this afternoon we had a Bonita and Ladyfish frenzy. It almost didn’t matter what you put into the water, and you were hit. Several Bonita and too many Lady fish to count hit the deck.
Other action included Red Drum. They were caught both in skinny water and off the end tee on King rigs. Several slot fish made their way into coolers while others were quickly photographed and released.
